Not a Hero, A Survivor

I'm no hero. Heroes don't come back. Survivors return home. Heroes never come home. If anyone thinks I'm a hero, I'm not.~Bob Feller

In this quote, I think that Bob Feller, the very famous baseball player, thinks that he would not like people to think of him as a Hero, because hero's don't come back home. Survivors do.

I think this is true. Yes, there are lots of heroes that return, but an example of Heroes not returning is a war. The people that get remembered are the people that died trying. The Survivors are the people that come back.

I think that Bob Feller has made a very clear point. If you go on a journey or a quest, and return, then you are a survivor, not necessarily a hero. A survivor, always returns.

The Painting
I chose this painting because of its bold strokes, because if you are a hero/survivor you are bold and not afraid. The person in the painting also looks very brave. The artist is Francoise Nielly.
